Membership & Contributor Guidelines

African Learning Sphere is a curated, members-only publishing platform. Publishing access is not automatically granted — it requires review and approval. This page outlines everything you need to know about becoming a member and contributor.
Membership Roles
- Subscriber/Member — Can read all content, participate in community discussions, and access exclusive member resources. No publishing access.
- Author/Contributor — Can submit articles for editorial review. Content is published only after admin approval. Requires application and approval.
- Editor — Can review, edit, and approve contributor submissions. Appointed by administrators.
- Admin — Full platform management capabilities. Manages members, content, and settings.
- Super Admin — Network-level administration and platform oversight.
How to Become a Contributor
- Register for a member account on our platform.
- Complete your profile including your professional background and areas of expertise.
- Submit a contributor application via the Contact Us page, including a brief bio and a sample piece or topic proposal.
- Our editorial team reviews your application within 5–10 business days.
- Upon approval, your account is upgraded to Author/Contributor status.
- Submit your articles through the member dashboard for editorial review before publication.
Contributor Standards
- Articles must be original, well-researched, and between 800–3,000 words.
- All claims must be supported by credible sources with proper citations.
- Content must be written in clear, professional English.
- Contributors must comply with our AI Content & Editorial Guidelines.
- Submissions must not promote hate speech, violence, or illegal activities.
- Contributors must maintain respectful and professional conduct within the community.
Publication Process
All submitted content goes through our moderation and review workflow: Submission → Editorial Review → Approval/Feedback → Publication. Contributors will receive email notifications at each stage. Rejected submissions include editorial feedback for improvement.
Violations and Account Suspension
Violations of these guidelines may result in content removal, contributor status revocation, account suspension, or permanent banning. We take intellectual integrity very seriously.
